SUSTAINABILITY AT BEX ASIA

RX Singapore is the first tradeshow organiser in Singapore to support Garden City Fund’s Plant-A-Tree programme

On 19th March, a total of 50 trees were planted by volunteers, including sponsors from Camfil, ebm-papst, Singapore Polytechnic and RX Singapore. A total of $15,000 was donated towards this cause which contributes to the National Parks Board's (NParks) target of planting one million trees across the island by 2030.

SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERS

GHG Mitigation Program

In 2023, BEX Asia launched a GHG Mitigation Program with exhibitors such as Camfil, ebm-papst and Singapore Polytechnic to track attendees carbon footprints. This program raises awareness about sustainability and encourages efforts to reduce environmental impact. From the Attendee-generated carbon emission report, a total of 44.7 tCO²E GHG emissions and 6.3 Kg CO²E per attendee emissions was captured. This report was complemented with Marina Bay Sands' event Impact Statement, providing an overview of the estimated carbon emissions.

RX PATHWAY TO NET ZERO BY 2040

On a larger scale, RX launched The Net Zero Roadmap which focuses on the emissions associated with the complete life cycle of events from the energy used, to the production of stands, signage, carpet, food and associated waste, logistics and travel. While our immediate challenge is to measure these emissions, our roadmap sets out the milestones we are putting in place to ensure we reduce our emissions to net  zero no later than 2040.

This roadmap will include milestones for all five emission categories for all RX events.

Action Area 1: Power events efficiently, with clean, renewable energy

Action Area 2: Redesign events to utilise sustainable materials and be waste free

Action Area 3: Source food sustainably and end food waste

Action Area 4: Move goods and equipment efficiently and transition to zero emission logistics

Action Area 5: Work with and influence partners in the travel sector to reduce and mitigate the emissions of travel

As a founding signatory to the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge, RX remains steadfast in its dedication to sustainability. Anticipated in 2025, RX will aim to develop an offset strategy in 2025 to compensate for emissions while we reduce them.
